Make A Date To Talk To The State

In July of this year, the Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Sunset Advisory Commission completed their report.  They stated the following: “The Sunset review of health and human services in Texas showed a system fraught with problems ranging from duplicate services, to inefficient organization, to poor contracting practices,” “…all of these problems affect the ability of Texans to receive needed and efficient services.”  (read the entire report here).

The HHSC oversees the following programs:

  • Medicaid
  • Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
  • Texas Women’s Health Program
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
  • SNAP Food Benefits and Nutritional Programs
